Great Feedback from Ms. White!

My goal as the Environmental Education teacher at Springdale Park is to teach students the standards they learn in their homeroom classes in a new and meaningful way. This fall, I taught my first grade students about fiction and non-fiction in the context of pumpkins around Halloween. We also used fiction and non-fiction books on leaves as an introduction to our tree unit. It meant so much to me for a homeroom teacher to mention that her students connected what they learned in their Environmental Science classes to what they were learning in their homeroom classes.
