It is incredibly discouraging that in digging through the strategic plan for one of the Atlanta public K-12 school clusters, there is no language at all, on any level, around hands-on exploratory learning or creative artistic development. I understand the intention of a 21st century college and career readiness focus but there are clearly huge gaps in the goals and strategies in this plan that will undoubtedly affect the educational experience of nearly 6,000 children in our city. This seems to be a losing battle, but one worth fighting.
