Classes started early this morning on the rooftop garden. In Ms. Mailman’s class at about 8:00, we enjoyed the cool weather while we watched the sunrise.

Today we found a huge caterpillar on the rooftop garden! The kids were so excited to check him out 🙂

After recess, the kids picked some sorrel to taste – most of them liked it (even though they tried to convince me they wouldn’t before they tried it)! Here is a student account of how much fun she had in the garden this week:

The kids pulled up the radishes today! They were so excited to take them home and share with their families 🙂

Today, we began planting lettuce and tomato seeds with our first grade classes!

Our greens are ready for picking and snacking!                   

The bean plants we planted on the rooftop garden are big and beautiful!
