Congratulations to Parker Pape for receiving a grant from the Council of Intown Neighborhood Schools for his “Rooftop Garden Home for Birds” project proposal!
This project will include the installation of six bird feeders to our rooftop garden along with inviting the Atlanta Audubon Society to our school to teach each of our Kindergarten classes for two consecutive weeks during their Science Enrichment class periods. The Atlanta Audubon Society has a series of classes called “Learning About Birds.” For our Kindergarten students, we have picked out “What Makes a Bird… a Bird” and “Exploring Bird Habitats” both of which connect to the Georgia Performance Standards in Science.
