On a crisp September day, we took a trip to Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Mercier Orchards is home to about 100,000 apple trees over 200 acres.
When the time is right, all of the apples are picked by hand.
They are sorted into large crates with other apples of the same variety.
They are then washed…
And sorted…
Then, some of the apples are put into bags to go to the grocery stores…
And, some of the apples are put in boxes to go to the farmers markets.
Some of the apples are pressed into apple cider!
And some of the apples are baked into apple pies!
You can find Mericer Orchards apples and apple cider at your local farmers market. Check their website for information on where you can find their apple pies and other sweet treats!
