Meet Georgia’s 2015-2016 FoodCorps service members! FoodCorps is a nationwide team of AmeriCorps leaders focused on connected kids to real food and helping them grow up healthy. In Georgia, they work alongside the Captain Planet Foundation and Northeast Georgia Farm to School to provide nutrition education through hands-on garden and cooking lessons.
I have felt so fortunate to work alongside these folks throughout their service year, starting with the FoodCorps National Orientation where I led the “Teaching 101” workshop with Whitney from Life Lab.
At this State Orientation that followed, we dove deeper into the concepts we covered at the National Orientation as well as got our hands dirty, building a garden for Perkerson Elementary School in Atlanta Public Schools.
